******************************************************* The following spells, potions, magickal recipes, elixers and magick are taken from my own BOS.  Many of the spells posted here, or the correspondences to create spells, are my own original creations.  But to these I have also added spells from all kinds of sources, hither and yon.  Unfortunately, never thinking that any of this would ever be made public but kept only for my own use, I neglected to write down and keep track of all these  sources.  If anyone recognizes an entry here and can give me the original source, I'll post a credit. A Bit About Magick Most people only know and expect from magick what they have seen on television and movies, or what they have read in fictional stories.  They expect lots of special effects, both visually astounding and sometimes noisy.  They expect instantaneous reactions from magickal incantations and would be satisfied with no less.  To most people, if magick does not meet the above criteria, it is not magick. They would be wrong. Real magick works in its own way and in its own time...no special effects, no drum rolls, no flashes of light, and most of the time no melodrama.  It works quietly, pervasively, discreetly, with sometimes surprising and unexpected results. In this box, you will find: 1. Circle Castings 2.  Invocations Circle Castings 1.  A Circle Casting for Three Passes 2.  Circle Casting for Folk Magick 3.  Circle of Protection 4.  The Circle for Dark Magick Note:  At the bottom of Circle Castings, you will find directions for opening the magick circle. Note: Before Casting the Circle After sweeping the area clean with your besom (broom) and/or sprinkling the area with salt water for purification, draw the circle with your wand/athame/sword.  Form the boundaries with candles, stones, or a white cord. 1.  For a circle casting with three passes: The first pass is for the Goddess, The second pass is for the God, The third pass is for the All. The first pass is for the Elements, The second pass is for the Ancestors, The third pass is for Divinity. The first to cleanse, The second to consecrate, The third to empower. The circle is now cast and we are between the worlds, beyond the bounds of time, where night and day, birth and death, joy and sorrow, meet as one. 2.  Circle Casting for Folk Magick Witches' lair and wolverine night, Ancient Ones bring second sight. Blood and bones of those before, Help me with this little chore. Thread and pins and natural things, At my bidding magick bring. East and South, West and North, Circle round, bring power forth. Land and sky, fire and sea, Open now for Divinity. Spirit rise and seal this place. I now work in sacred space. 3.  Circle of Protection I conjure Thee, O' circle of protection, So that you will be for me a boundary between all negativity and all that is dear to me, A safe place of perfect love, trust, peace, and joy, Containing those I wish to protect herein. I call upon the Guardians of the East, South, West, and North to aid me in the construction of this circle. In the name of the Morrigan and Cernnunos, thus do I conjure Thee, O' great circle of protection. This circle is sealed. 4.  The Circle for Dark Magick (Cast this circle widdershins�counter clockwise.) I consecrate this circle to the Dark Mother and the Lord of the Hunt.  Here may they manifest and bless their child (your craft name). This is a time that is not a time, in a place that is not a place, on a day that is not a day. I stand at the threshold between the worlds, before the Veil of the Mysteries.  May the Old Ones protect me, that I may walk the true path forever. By the bright circle of the glorious Sun, by the bright courses of the glorious Moon, by the dread potency of every star in the mysterious zodiac�s burning girth, by each and all of these supernal signs... I do call and command you with this sacred blade. Guard me in this time and place from all evil and unbalanced forces. Note: Opening the Magick Circle Hold your wand/athame/sword in your right hand. Move around the circle widdershins (counter clockwise) and speak any of the following verses. Or Sit in the center of the circle, raising your wand/athame/sword above your head.  In one swift motion make a widdershins circle in tne air, saying: "This circle is open, but never broken." Or "Open now this sacred space. Send all energies back to place. Fare Thee well and safe return, Let not my magick 'ere be turned." Here I come to call thee forth, Earth and Water, Air and Fire, Wand and Pentacle and Sword, Work ye unto my desire, Hearken ye unto my word. Cord and censer, scourge and knife, Powers of the Witches' blade, Awaken all ye unto life. Come ye, as the charm is made, Queen of heaven, Queen of hell, Horned Hunter of the night, Lend your power unto my spell, And work my will by magick rite. By all the power of land and sea, By all the might of moon and sun, As I do will, so mote it be. Chant the spell and be it done. 2.  The Call of Nine Gracious Goddess Holy and Divine, Answer to the Call of Nine: 1...I stand before thy throne. 2...I invoke Thee alone. 3...I hold aloft my blade. 4...descend as the spell is made. 5...lend Thy power to give it life. 6...Thy power into my knife. 7...On earth, in sky, and shining sea, gracious Goddess be with me. 8...come now, the call is made. 9...Give Thy power unto my blade. 3.  Conjuring Moon Power (Use this invocation only within a cast circle.) In this night and in this hour, I call upon the Moon's great power. Great goddess of the moon, Queen of every realm, Lady of infinite destiny, Protectress and Mother of Witches, I call upon your wisdom to pierce through the night. Cast upon me, your Priestess, thy loving gaze. The enchantment has begun, From the heavens, power will come. 4.  Invocation of the Goddess (Use this invocation only within a cast circle.) I call Thee down, O' my great Queen to enter my body and commune with my spirit. Be with me now, as I fulfill my destiny and work magick in accordance with Your will. So Mote It Be.

I summon to us the Element of Air. I stir the Ancients with knowledge of old, Be here this night, our spirits hold. Lord and Lady protect us, keep us from harm. Air, empower us with communication and charm. Ancient Ones give us knowledge that lasts. Provide us this in the circle that�s cast. Fire  (South) I call the Lord and Lady with loving desire. I summon to me the element of Fire. I stir the Ancients, the old ones, the wise, To comfort our fears, our yearning, our cries. Lord and Lady protect us with your strength of healing. Fire, empower us with passionate feeling. Ancient Ones give us understandings that last, Provide us this in the circle that�s cast. Water (West) I call the Lord and Lady to hear your sons and daughters. I summon to me the Element of Water. I stir the Ancients with truth from the past, Be here this night be here at last. Lord and lady protect us, keep us close to your side. Water, empower us with emotions of pride. Ancient Ones give us patience that lasts, Be here this night in the circle that�s cast. Earth  (North) I call the Lord and lady who gave us birth. I summon to me the element of Earth. I stir the Ancients to be here this night, To travel upon their spiritual light. Lord and Lady protect us, surround us with love. Earth, empower us as below so above. Ancient Ones give us wisdom that lasts. Provide us this in the circle that�s cast. 3.  Open the Gates Come ye, of the Northern Winds, place of storms and deepest night, place of silence most profound, Guard this circle set outside of Time.  Acknowledge the purpose of this rite.  Open for me the Gate of Earth! Come ye, of the East Winds, place of first sun and rise of moon, place of inspiration, guard this circle set outside of time.  Acknowledge the purpose of this rite.  Open for me the Gate of Air! Come ye, of the Southern Winds, place of the highest sun, place of creations manifest, guard this circle set outside of time.  Acknowledge the purpose of this rite.  Open for me the Gate of Fire! Come ye, of the West Winds, place of the setting sun, home of the Island Remembered, place of wisdom.  Guard this circle set outside of time.  Acknowledge the purpose of this rite.  Open for me the Gate of Water! 4.  Hail Guardians Hail ye' Guardians of the Watchtowers of the North, I do summon, stir, and call you now to witness this right and to guard this circle. Hail ye' Guardians of the Watchtowers of the East, I do summon, stir, and call you now to witness this right and to guard this circle. Hail ye' Guardians of the Watchtowers of the South, I do summon, stir, and call you now to witness this right and to guard this circle. Note: You need a feather for this incantation, to carry your magickal intent up into the air. 2.  Kitchen Magick Incantation With this food I empower The energy of this wondrous hour. As I ingest this magic meal, The power of this spell I seal. Note: Kitchen magick is any magick you can practice using ordinary kitchen supplies/ingredients.  Select culinary herbs based on their magickal properties and add them to your recipe.  Many ordinary fruits/vegetables have magickal correspondences as well. 3.  Alchemical Chant of Manifestation Out of the black and into the red. Out of the red and into the white. Out of the white and into the gold. Out of the gold and into the world. Where my hand is laid, Enchantment is made. Out of the void and into the action. Out of the action and into the spirit. Out of the spirit and into the astral. Out of the astral and into the world. Where the gods' hands are laid, Magick is made. 4.  Charm for Mixing Potions Elements of Wind and Fire, Bring to me my heart's desire. Water, Earth, my wish fulfill, Strong my magick, strong my will. Within these Elements fourfold, The power grows and so will hold
